5/21/09--Two changes to the ol' web site today. First, I've added a
few Baron reviews to my
Reviews page. And second, in Googling images the other day, I
stumbled across the covers for what I think are Portuguese editions of The
Naked Duke and The Naked Marquis--except in Portuguese they've become The
Passionate Duke and The Passionate Marquis. Though when my husband ran
the titles through the trusty online translator, he found "nutty" as an
option for "passionate." Hmm... Check them out on my
Around the World
page. A little retro, no?
5/10/09--I've got some non-Baron Naked news to report! I've just
learned that The Naked Gentleman is a finalist in the Greater Detroit RWA
chapter's Booksellers Best Award Contest. Also, my editor tells me
that Kensington will be reprinting The Naked Duke. No date yet on when the
reprint will be released--I'll let you know when I know anything more.
5/8/09--My writer pal Ann
Christopher came upon a Naked "dump" in the wild--in a Cincinnati Barnes
& Noble--and snapped a picture. Isn't it cool? Here's a hint--if
you can't find the Baron on the shelf where it should be, look for one of
these. Or search out the new release section. Or, best, ask your
friendly bookseller. I've had to do some searching to find that sneaky
Baron, so please persevere. He really does want to go home with you!

5/7/09--Since I last checked in here, I've been traveling or away 16 out of
the last 22 days--if you include the day trip to Fort Meade. I've been
in Leesburg, Orlando, and Denver, and I'm more than a little bleary-eyed. It
was great fun meeting readers, booksellers, and other writers--and seeing
The Naked Baron in the wild--but I'm ready to stay home for a while.
(I'm happy to report the Dear Husband managed to operate the washer and
dryer while I was gone, so he didn't turn into The Naked Lawyer.)
Amongst my physical travels, I've also made a couple appearances on the web
which you are more than welcome to visit. I blogged on my agent's site
about
choosing an agent and visited the Riskies to talk about how I've been
writing the Naked books. And tonight I have to get out the makeup and
don my author persona once more--not that these folks will be fooled.
My good friend Debbie is hosting what has turned into an annual book signing
party.
4/14/09--Oops! I'm updating my web site and just realized I never
posted an excerpt from the Baron. Oh, dear. My apologies.
Here it is.
I've also updated my
Happenings page to include my upcoming appearances--and there are more
than usual--as well as a few pictures from my son's December wedding.
And I'm happy to report I did send my editor The Naked Viscount (tentative
release date April 2010)--which is why I now have time to tidy up the web
site. My family would like me to tidy up the house as well, but dust
does bad things to my allergies...
3/30/09--I had a great time at the NECRWA conference last weekend meeting
other writers and readers (a few of whom are avid Naked readers!!). In
addition, writer Anna DeStefano, her editor Leah Hultenschmidt, my agent
Jessica Faust, and I presented a workshop "Reaching Promo Zen." It was
a blast--but I think we could have used another hour. In review news, The
Naked Baron got a Top Pick! from RTBOOKreviews--and the baron himself got a
K.I.S.S. (Knight in Shining Silver). A bit of Kathe Robin's review is
here.
3/8/09--I just finished the first draft of The Naked Viscount and am poking
my head out of my cave briefly before going back to revise. Writing is
rewriting, right? I took a moment to update my appearances on my
Happenings page.
My son did send me a CD of wedding pictures, so I hope to be able to figure
that out and post a few--but it will have to happen in between revisions, I
think. For any of you in the Boston area, I'll be at the New England
conference again this year, so please stop by and say hi at the book fair on
March 28--details are on my
Happenings page.
And now, back to my cave...
1/2/09--Happy new year, everyone! I had a great holiday. All
four of our sons were home, at least for a day or two, and our oldest son's
wedding was wonderful I don't have any pictures yet--I left all the
photography to the professional. I'm sure the pictures will be much,
much better than I could have taken. When I get some, I'll try to post
one or two. Now I'm focusing on getting The Naked Viscount written.
Meanwhile, I've gotten the first review for "The Naked Laird," my novella in
the anthology Lords of Desire.
Here's a quote and
the link to the full review.
12/1/08--Things have been busy here. I've just finished the page
proofs of the Baron and now I'm focusing on The Naked Viscount--when I'm not
focusing on the holidays and my son's wedding, LOL! Lords of Desire,
the anthology with "The Naked Laird," will be in bookstores January 27, if
not before. It's coming out in trade paperback. Here's the
cover:

Pretty cool, huh? Go
here to read
an excerpt. And feel free to poke around the website--I've updated a
few things.
10/5/08--Copy edits have arrived for The Naked Baron--I'm taking them with
me as dh and I dash off for a few days at the beach. And I'm delighted
to announce that Unleash
Your Story met it's fundraising goal!! A big thank you to everyone
who participated. We'll do it again next year--and then I hope I'll be
able to concentrate on writing and not proofreading and revising!
4/8/08--I'm getting ready to go to the
NECRWA conference
this weekend. I'm polishing up (ahem, writing) the workshop I'm giving
with my pal Caroline Linden.
I hope I'll see some of you at the book signing! But before I head
off, I wanted to share some good news--The Naked Gentleman was selected as a
Blue Ribbon Favorite of the month at Romance Junkies! You can link to
the review from my review page, but here's the cool graphic they sent me!

9/23/07--I just did a fun interview with BookThink about romance and the
Naked Nobility--you can find it
here.
